"Bio-Collector" employed in Canada
| The worries about a clean invironment and the poisoning of valuable soil by the use of chemicals in the agriculture, needs urgently to be rethought about. The Colorado Beetle is still a nuisance for the farmer. »Bio-Collector«, the first European pneumatic-mechanicaly working device for the efficient controlling the Colorado Beetle and its larvas, finally spares the use of insectizides. | |
From an additional oil aggregate at the rear of the tractor, the oil is pushed through a conduit (hydraulic hose) to an oil distributer at the front of the tractor. Drive by propeller shaft. The distibuter feeds the oil motors. The hydraulic motors drive the radial ventilators and produce an air stream. Each radial ventilator is installed an air channel (housing) which are carried through between the rows of potato plants. |

| The nozzles (outlets) are leading the air blast directly to the potato plants and blow the beetles and larvas down into the collecting containers, which have to be emptied from time to time. |  |

The complete unit of the »Bio Collector« is fixed at the front hydraulic or the front loader of the tractor. The bearing construction, made of steel, is adaptable to the different distances of the rows. |
»Bio-Collector« is available for two, three and four rows. |

Extract of the report made by the Bavarian Agricultur Institution: |
| »The success of collecting Colorado Beetles is
approx. 95% and for larvas 85%. Only occasionally some little young larvas were found on
the plants. The beetles which fall down to the ground and could not be catched are less
than 2%.«
